The Broward Education Foundation will kick off its annual Back to School Supply Drive on Monday, July 14, and run through August 29, to support students and teachers across Broward County Public Schools.
Last year’s drive generated more than $2 million in supplies, benefiting over 130,000 students and 12,000 teachers at 195 schools. This year, the Foundation continues its mission to equip Title I students with the essential tools needed to succeed in the classroom.
“Every contribution—financial or supplies—directly supports children who often lack access to basic school materials,” said Board Chair Dustin Jacobs.
The Foundation offers several ways to participate, including adopting a school, hosting a virtual or in-person supply drive, or making a direct donation. A $25 donation equips one student with a fully stocked backpack, while $100 supports a teacher with tools for the year.
Most-needed items include backpacks, pencils, notebooks, glue sticks, and hand sanitizer. Supplies can be dropped off at the School Supply Center at 2300 W. Copans Road, Bay #5, Pompano Beach.
For pickup or hosting information, contact Hector Javier at 754-321-9020 or email mari-lee.baxter@browardschools.com. Donations can also be made online at browardedfoundation.org/drive.
