Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’s DECA Chapter Project, We Remember, is bringing an impactful event to the Parkland Library parking lot on Sunday, Dec. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This free event features the Hate Ends Now Cattle Car Exhibit, presented in partnership with inSIGHT Through Education, making its first-ever appearance in Broward County.
The event’s centerpiece is a World War II replica cattle car that offers a 20-minute, 360-degree multi-sensory experience.
Designed as a mobile classroom, the exhibit takes attendees on a journey through history, shedding light on the Holocaust and the devastating effects of hate.
According to Hate Ends Now, the immersive nature of the exhibit provides an emotional and educational perspective, fostering awareness and understanding.
This project is so important because hate remains a significant issue in our world said Ethan Klein, Vice President of Marketing for MSD DECA.
“Through this project as a whole, we want to spread awareness about the effects of hate and create an environment where everyone is included regardless of what makes them different.”
The exhibit accommodates about 30 people per session and will run continuously throughout the six-hour event. Visitors are encouraged to arrive at their convenience and experience this moving presentation of history and unity.
Mallory Biederman, a DECA Senator and co-leader of the project, said that inSIGHT Through Education has never been to Broward County either, so this is their first time here.
Klein added, “..It’s just a unique experience to attend, and we are truly looking for people to learn about hate, including the Holocaust, to create a sense of unity.”
The Parkland Library is at 6620 N University Dr, Parkland, FL 33067.
