The Marjory Stoneman boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams ran very well at a BCAA meet at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach on September 9.
Coach Michael Mauro was proud of both teams and expects them to qualify for the regional and state championship meets.
“I am excited about our team, and I believe we will have an outstanding season this fall,” said Mauro.
The Eagles boys’ team earned first place, and the girls’ team earned second place behind Dillard, which has a strong program.
Matt Rosenberg, one of the leaders on the Eagles team, won first place as an individual. He competed alongside his brother, Nick, who also ran well.
“I felt good when I was running,” said Matt, a senior who is doing well in the classroom with a 5.2 grade point average.
Alexys Caropreso was the top Eagles’ female runner, according to Mauro.
