Florida Pokers Hold Tryouts for 8U Team July 15

Calling all future big leaguers — the highly-successful Florida Pokers Baseball organization has announced tryouts for their 8U team.

Tryouts for the Florida Pokers 8U team will take place on July 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Marjory Stoneman Softball Fields, located at 5901 Pine Island Road. 

To be eligible for the 8U team, players must not turn nine before May 1, 2024. Those interested in trying out for the 8U team are required to pay a registration fee of $20, with all funds collected will be donated to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball team. 

Participants in the 8U tryouts will be able to learn from experienced coaches and interact with fellow players. Head Coach Robert Georgiou of the Original 16U Florida Pokers will also be present at the tryouts to evaluate the young prospects. 

The Florida Pokers Baseball organization has a long-standing reputation for developing talented athletes and promoting sportsmanship. Currently, its 16U team sits nationally ranked.

For 13 seasons, the Pokers’ have trained U18 players with opportunities to excel at the collegiate and professional levels.

Most recently, the original 2024 Florida Pokers won the Palm Beach Classic in dominant fashion with a perfect 8-0 record, outscoring opponents 45-8 in the tournament.
