In Jacob’s Shoes is hosting its 12th annual dinner and auction, “Every Sole Counts,” which benefits local children in need.
Held on Thursday, October 27, at 5:30 p.m., at the Boca West Country Club. The cost is $200 per person, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting In Jacob’s Shoes.
The event includes cocktails, dinner, raffles, and live and silent auctions. Some items that will be auctioned off include jewelry, restaurant gift cards, beauty services, and golf outings.
In Jacob’s Shoes is a non-profit charity formed in honor of Jacob S. Zweig, who was tragically killed in 2008 at 17. Jacob inspired many during his life, often through volunteering.
To honor Jacob’s legacy, In Jacob’s Shoes was created. The charity provides new and gently used shoes, socks, backpacks, school supplies, and athletic gear to children and families in need living in South Florida.
“The need has increased tremendously,” said In Jacob’s Shoes President and co-founder Harlene Zweig, who is also a Parkland resident. “But our distribution has also.”
Since 2009, the charity has provided over 192,000 pairs of shoes and over 10,000 backpacks with school supplies to local children and families in need.
