Motorists traveling through Parkland will face a temporary road closure next month as construction continues on improvements to Loxahatchee Road.
Beginning Monday, July 6, Loxahatchee Road will be closed to through traffic between North University Drive and Parkside Drive. The closure will remain in effect until Sunday, Aug. 9. Crews will install curbs for a new roadway median.
City officials said the closure is necessary to ensure the safety of both the public and construction workers while roadway improvements are completed. Local access to homes and businesses along Loxahatchee Road will remain available throughout the project.
Drivers will be detoured using North University Drive, Holmberg Road and Parkside Drive, or State Road 7/U.S. 441. Properties west of Northwest 61st Way will remain accessible via Parkside Drive.
Officials also reminded residents that the existing closure on Loxahatchee Road from just east of Northwest 61st Way to State Road 7/U.S. 441 will remain in place through fall 2026 as construction continues.
