The Marjory Stoneman Douglas cross country team competed at the Regional Championship on Wednesday at Larry & Penny Thompson Park.
The girls team finished fifth and qualified for the State Championship after Olympia Koumoutsakis, Emiliana Anzures, and Alexys Caropreso all finished 22nd to 24th, respectively. Lola Simcox was next to place, coming in 35th, followed by Sparta Koumoutsakis, Noa Nierman, and Sophia Zengotita.
The boys team placed 13th and featured Matthew Rosenberg placing 43rd with a time of 17:46.2. Nicolas Rosenberg, Roberto Martone, and Alexander Spadaccini all placed in the top 90, while Joshua Glasgow, Rocko Martone, and Caleb Walker all ran.
Next, the MSD girls team, along with any potential at-large qualifiers from the boys team, will race at the State Championship on Saturday, November 22, at Apalachee Regional Park.
