The Marjory Stoneman Douglas softball held Senior Night in their final regular season game og the regular season against Westminster Academy on Wednesday.
The Eagles recognized Addison Zajkowski, Antonia Nelke, and Lucia Perez before the Eagles fell 8-7 in extra innings. MSD scored a run in the first, but went on to allow the next three runs. Each team had a four-run inning before the Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the sixth. Mya Boleen led the way with two RBIs while Paige Kalvatis, Zajkowski, Camden Ferro, and Lily Torres all drove in one, while Zajkowski pitched and threw a complete game.
MSD fell to 11-9 and will now set for the District Tournament. The Eagles are set to play Western High School in the Big-8 Championship on Monday, April 21, at 6 p.m. This tournament features the top eight teams in Broward County. The Wildcats are 13-4-1 this season and beat the Eagles 2-0 in their only matchup earlier this season.
Coral Springs Charter is the top seed and will be playing Coral Glades, while West Broward, St. Thomas Aquinas, Cardinal Gibbons, and Pompano Beach High School all qualified.
