The Marjory Stoneman Douglas football team officially qualified for Regionals for the second straight year following a tremendous season.
The Eagles went 11-0 in the regular season and knocked off Monarch High School 28-0 in their first playoff game. They went on to lose 6-0 against Western High School in the final, but still earned the fifth seed at Regionals.
MSD will play on Wednesday, April 23, at 3:30 p.m. against fourth-seeded Ferguson High School. The Falcons went 11-3 this year and had a win over Coral Gables High School in their first playoff game before losing in the final 19-7 against Miami Palmetto Senior High School. They are the top seed and will be playing Doral Academy.
The winner of each of these games will advance to the Semifinals, while Spanish River, Park Vista, Western, and Hialeah Gardens High School have all qualified for Regionals. MSD won a District Title last season and was seeded second in Regionals. They went on to reach the Semifinals before losing to Wellington High School.
