Seniors were honored with a 4-3 win by Monarch High School’s baseball team over Pompano Beach.
On Tuesday, the Knights honored Nick Nin and Nick Cabello, Evan Stillman, Jesse Campos, Luke Toma, Dawson Lallance, Ryan Weinstock, and Nicholas Beningo before they improved their record to 7-5.
Nin and Cabello are both committed to playing college baseball. Nin is set to play at Wartburg College after playing his first season with the Knights. He has struck out more than a batter per inning.
For Cabello, he will be playing at Dominican College. This season’s best start came in March when he pitched 4.1 hurtles innings, allowing no runs and striking out eight.
Stillman, who has spent the last two years on the varsity baseball team, is set to attend Jacksonville University for academic purposes to become a commercial pilot.
Campos has contributed a win on the mound this season, while Toma can play all around the diamond, including making a pair of appearances on the mound in 2021.
Lallance, Weinstock, and Benigno have also contributed during their two years on the varsity baseball team. Monarch ended up falling on Wednesday against St. Thomas Aquinas High School 8-0. Next, the Knights will be in action on Monday, April 18, against Cypress Bay High School at 6:30 p.m. The Lighting is 11-6 and recently defeated Chaminade Madonna High School 3-1 on Tuesday.
