The Miami Marlins have officially signed Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate Chris Arroyo after his selection in the 2025 MLB Draft.
After being chosen with the pick in the seventh round, with pick 139. Arroyo becomes the second MSD grad to sign with the Marlins, joining former teammate Jake Clemente, who signed for $500,000 after being picked in the seventh round with pick 198.

A 2022 graduate of MSD, Arroyo went 8-1 while also hitting eight home runs in high school. He began his college career at the University of Florida and earned a win before transferring to Pasco-Hernando State College as a two-way player.  He started the year as a  Preseason All-American, hitting .291 with eight doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, and 42 RBIs. He also made three starts and came out of the bullpen four times.
At the University of Virginia, Arroyo batted .291 (55-for-189) with eight doubles, one triple, 11 home runs, and 42 RBIs while also striking out nine batters in 12.2 innings pitched against 13 walks.
