Parkland Crime Blotter: June 9–15

Death Investigation
A man was found unresponsive inside a Parkland home on June 9 after family members discovered him beside his bed. Coral Springs Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene. Family members told deputies he had been dealing with alcohol abuse and personal issues. The Medical Examiner’s Office responded, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Domestic Dispute
Deputies responded to a custody-related argument between two parents on June 9. The disagreement remained verbal, and no physical altercation occurred.

Gatehouse Argument
A resident became involved in a verbal dispute with security personnel after an entry gate sticker failed to activate. The resident was advised of community access procedures, and no criminal activity was reported.

Clubhouse Prank Investigated
Deputies investigated a report of possible property damage at the Heron Bay clubhouse after someone placed toilet paper over a sauna heat sensor. Investigators found no damage and reported no injuries.

Neighbor Dispute
Deputies responded to a disagreement between neighbors over a property line and the removal of a tree. The incident was determined to be a civil matter with no criminal violations.

Trailer Burglary
A Parkland resident discovered damage to a trailer lock and enclosure after an apparent burglary. No property was reported stolen, and the investigation remains active.

Wallet Reported Stolen
A man reported that his wallet disappeared while he slept at a bus stop near State Road 7 and Loxahatchee Road. The wallet contained identification cards, bank cards, and bus passes. No suspect information was available.

Aggravated Assault Reported
A resident told deputies an unknown man arrived in a white Jeep, threatened to kill him and his family, and lifted his shirt to display what appeared to be a handgun. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.

Door Damaged During Emergency Response
Deputies responding to an aggravated assault investigation forced entry into a residence after hearing what they believed was a woman screaming inside. They later discovered the screams were coming from a neighboring residence where someone was reacting to a sporting event on television.

Fake Driver’s License Leads to Arrest
A man attempting to gain access to a gated community allegedly used a counterfeit Florida driver’s license. Investigators said he admitted purchasing the fake identification from an unknown person before being arrested.

Animal Cruelty Complaint Unfounded
Deputies investigated an anonymous report of possible animal cruelty after a dog was heard yelping. Officers found the animals appeared healthy and well cared for, with no evidence of abuse.

Dating Violence Arrest
A man suffered facial lacerations after an argument with his girlfriend allegedly turned physical. Investigators said the incident was captured on video, and the woman was arrested.

Medical Emergency
Deputies conducting a welfare check found a man unconscious inside a parked vehicle suffering from heat exposure. Three doses of Narcan were administered before he regained consciousness and was transported to a hospital. No criminal activity was suspected.

Missing Juvenile Investigation
A father reported his daughter missing after finding a note indicating she no longer wanted to live. Surveillance footage showed her leaving the home earlier in the evening. Deputies launched an endangered missing person investigation.

Trespassers Caught on Camera
A homeowner reported seeing four individuals carrying flashlights as they walked across the property in the early morning hours. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Dog Bite
A woman suffered minor injuries after a German Shepherd mix lunged and bit her while she was walking her dog. She declined medical treatment.

Death Investigation
A passerby discovered a woman lying unresponsive near the roadway on June 13. Fire rescue personnel pronounced her dead at the scene, and investigators identified her through a nearby parked vehicle. The investigation remains ongoing.

$55,000 Watch Reported Stolen
A Parkland resident reported a luxury watch valued at approximately $55,000 missing after a moving company completed work inside the home. The theft remains under investigation.

Family Argument
Deputies responded to a report of a delayed domestic disturbance involving a father and his adult daughter. The incident was determined to be verbal only, with no injuries or criminal violations.

Arrests

Miguel Alberto Ixchop Garcia, 31, was arrested June 11 on a charge of possession of a counterfeit driver’s license or identification card.

Nyree Patrice Marie Penn, 52, was arrested June 11 on a misdemeanor charge of dating violence battery.
