Information / Miscellaneous Reports
Suspicious Incident — Feb. 10
A suspicious incident report was written regarding a juvenile male in Parkland. No victims were listed.
Threat Assessment — Feb. 10
Deputies completed a threat assessment report. No additional details were provided.
Neighbor Dispute — Feb. 10
A verbal dispute occurred between neighbors regarding a truck allegedly parked on the property. The vehicle was moved prior to the deputies’ arrival. Both parties were advised not to contact one another. BSO Code Enforcement responded to explain the drainage easement.
Gas Leak — Feb. 11
Construction crews accidentally struck a main gas line at Parkside Drive and Loxahatchee Road. Fire Rescue and deputies secured the area. The line was capped, and the roadway reopened.
Homeless Encampment Report — Feb. 12
Deputies responded to a report of a possible homeless encampment behind a residence in Cypress Head. The structure was determined to be a campsite built by the homeowner for children. No criminal activity was observed.
Domestic Disturbance (Non-Crime) — Feb. 12
Deputies met with a caller regarding a verbal dispute with her boyfriend. No physical altercation occurred.
Baker Act — Feb. 13
A 13-year-old was Baker Acted after attempting self-harm. She was transported to Fort Lauderdale Behavioral Health for evaluation.
Criminal Mischief — Feb. 14
An unknown individual damaged property inside a Parkland location between 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The incident was reported later that afternoon.
Suspicious Incident — Feb. 15
A resident reported that unknown individuals rang her doorbell and shook the front door shortly after midnight. Deputies canvassed the area but did not locate the subjects.
Information Report — Feb. 15
A tent at the Parkland Equestrian Center/Farmers Market became airborne due to wind and struck an unoccupied parked vehicle. The City of Parkland requested documentation.
Egging Incident — Feb. 15
Unknown individuals threw three eggs at a residence and a vehicle. No damage was reported at the time.
Road Rage Report — Feb. 15
A reporting party stated five males in a gray Dodge pickup truck were yelling obscenities and making gestures during a road rage incident. Video evidence was uploaded.
Police Information — Feb. 16
A security guard reported that an Amazon driver was rude and acting in a threatening manner after being denied entry for failing to provide a profile photo.
Missing/Endangered Juvenile — Feb. 15
A juvenile male was found in the roadway by a neighbor and returned safely to his mother prior to deputies’ arrival.
Theft Reports
Theft — BJ’s Wholesale Club — Feb. 10
Two adult males were initially believed to be involved in an armed robbery at 5901 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Further investigation determined the incident was a theft. Estimated loss: $150. The suspects fled in a vehicle and were apprehended following a pursuit. No firearms were involved.
Theft From Building — Reported Feb. 13
Jewelry valued at more than $51,000, including five watches and one ring, was reported stolen following a Dec. 26 party attended by more than 100 people.
Theft — Wawa — Feb. 15
A woman reported leaving her pocketbook on a table outside Wawa. When she returned approximately two hours later, it was gone. Items stolen included two bank cards, a wallet, and $150. Estimated loss: $450.
Batteries
Battery — 5900 Block Holmberg Road — Feb. 10
A woman riding her bicycle was punched twice by a male subject while passing him on the sidewalk. The suspect fled but was later located and arrested.
Battery — Terramar Park — Feb. 15
A verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation involving an ex-husband’s girlfriend, who pulled the victim’s hair. The offender was issued a Notice to Appear.
Arrests
Jonathan Foster, 24, of Parkland
Arrested Feb. 10 at 5900 Holmberg Road on a charge of battery (touch or strike).
James Edward Morris, 38, of Parkland
Arrested Feb. 10 at 5901 W. Hillsboro Blvd. on charges of possession of amphetamines with intent to sell, manufacture, or deliver.
Michael Nicholas Russo, 32, of Parkland
Arrested Feb. 10 on a charge of petit theft (second degree, first offense).
Ashley Fragoso Vargas, 18, of Parkland
Arrested Feb. 14 at 7705 N. State Road 7 on a charge of DUI (first offense).
