When exiting his vehicle, the owner believed the key was on his person and that he had locked it. He heard honking, which he thought was related to the nearby intersection, but it was, in fact, his vehicle. The key was not in the owner’s possession at the time of the theft. The car was equipped with tracking capabilities. Detectives from the Burglary Apprehension Team were notified and briefed.
