Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through August 9, 2021.
Battery
Watercrest Cir. W.
On Aug. 5, subjects were having a dispute over a child exchange.
Information
NW 114th Ln./Osprey Trail
On Aug. 3, a juvenile was driving a 2014 All-Star Golf Cart with a juvenile passenger when the cart driver swerved to avoid a vehicle that turned in front of him, causing the cart to tip over onto its driver’s side. The driver suffered minor scratches to his back. The passenger was not hurt. The golf cart was removed by its owner.
Cypresshead Dr.
On Aug. 5, deputies found a missing juvenile runaway. The juvenile was reported missing out of Coral Springs on 08/01/2021. The juvenile was not injured and not in any medical distress.
NW 77th Pl.
On Aug. 7, a Heron Bay resident told deputies she was taking groceries out of her vehicle when her child, who was in the garage playing, went missing for approximately 2 to 3 minutes.
Windward St.
On Aug. 3, deputies responded to a call about an ongoing house contract dispute.
Theft
State Rd. 7
On Aug. 6., an employee’s register at Wawa came up short $200. A witness called BSO said they saw employee Rachel Keyworth remove money from the register during her shift on Aug. 5. Keyworth signed a statement provided to her by the witness, admitting the theft. Keyworth told a deputy that she did take the money. She was issued a notice to appear.
Arrests
Keyworth, Rachel Lorraine, 23, was charged with larceny-petit theft on N State Rd 7 on 08/06/2021.
Romeo, Christina Erica, 20, was arrested on charges of possession of MDMA (ecstasy) on Parkside Dr on 08/07/2021.
