A motorcyclist from Parkland died after being struck by a car in the city Friday, authorities said.
Boris Katz, 65, was riding a 2015 BMW K1300 motorcycle east on Loxahatchee Road approaching Parkside Drive just before 1 p.m. when a 2023 BMW X5 SUV driven by Ronald Strobl rode into the motorcycle’s path, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department paramedics rushed Katz to Broward Health North, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Additional information about Strobl was not made public by BSO.
BSO Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are investigating the crash. Based on physical evidence found at the scene, detectives said speeding is not believed to have been a factor in the collision.
