Parkland weekly Crime Update by Parkland Talk

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through March 20, 2023.

Theft – All Other

A victim of Theft – All Other at NW 71 Terrace was reported on 03/14/2023. The total estimated loss was $3,230. The victims are in the process of a home renovation. They discovered two Toshiba (65″ and 55″, valued at $1,300 and $1,600) televisions, which were temporarily stored in the garage, were missing. In addition, the main computer and monitor for the security cameras ($250) were missing. An $80 Ring camera, which was inside the home, was also missing. 

All Other Arrestable Offenses

On 03/14/2023, the school resource officer was notified that two students were identified manipulating the school program I-Ready to change grades. It was stated that multiple students participated in paying for modification of their grades. Students were given school consequences for their actions. However, these consequences were not made public.

Information 

Information at N State Road 7 was reported on 03/14/2023. While closing out the register, the reporter advised that it was short $685, which occurred during a single transaction.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance at State Road 7 was reported on 03/15/2023. The total estimated loss was $75. The victim parked her 2021 Hyundai in the parking lot and returned to find her driver’s front passenger window smashed out and her wallet taken. Further investigation by police found another victim of a 2021 Nissan, whose rear passenger window smashed out. Nothing was taken.

A victim of Burglary Conveyance on State Road 7 was reported on 03/19/2023. The total estimated loss was $370. A male suspect smashed the victim`s 2021 Audi Q7 driver`s side window and reached into the vehicle while the victim was inside Starbucks. The suspect removed a black men`s wallet containing $20 cash, ID, and miscellaneous credit cards, then fled westbound through the BJ`s Wholesale Club parking lot in an older, black Toyota four-door sedan was scratched all over and had a damaged, unreadable license plate.

Retail / Shoplifting

A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on N State Road 7 was reported on 03/16/2023. The suspects entered, put $840.00 worth of Pureology shampoo and conditioner into a bag, and then exited the store without attempting to pay.

Shooting / Unlawful Discharge

A victim of a Shooting / Unlawful Discharge was reported on 03/10/2023. Information redacted.

Threat Assessment

Threat Assessment Report on Holmberg Road was reported 03/on 1312023. School Resource Deputies met with school employees who advised of a 13-year-old student that was found to have a Swiss Army-style multi-tool in his backpack that contained a common pocketknife inside it.

No Arrests were Reported.
