Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through August 28, 2023.
Burglary Building/Structure
A victim of a Burglary Building/Structure on Leon Circle S was reported on 08/22/2023. The total estimated loss was $850. The reporting person advised that a washing machine was stolen from a new home under construction. There were no signs of forced entry, but the front door does not have a deadbolt installed, and there is a hole where the deadbolt would be.
A victim of a Burglary Building/Structure on Leon Circle S was reported on 08/22/2023. The total estimated loss was $555. The reporting person advised that a wine cooler was stolen from a new home under construction. The reporting person advised that there were no signs of forced entry but that the sliding glass door in the rear of the property was not secured/ did not have a lock. The wine cooler was in the living room, close to the sliding glass door.
Information
Information on NW 61 Terrace was reported on 08/22/2023. The reporting person advised that she had her prescription medication delivered to her home through the mail. She advised that she never received her medication, but the post office sent her a confirmation saying the medication was delivered and signed for by her. She stated she was home at 3:26 when the medication was supposedly delivered, and she says she never saw the mailman or signed for anything. The Ring doorbell does not show anyone coming to their door at all. She advised that she could not get the prescription refilled without a police report.
Information on NW 81 Court was reported on 08/25/2023. The mother found her daughter in bed foaming at the mouth, possibly after taking some oxycodone, which is prescribed to the mother. CPR was performed by the victim’s brother as well as the Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department. After the fire rescue administered Narcan and performed CPR, the victim regained a pulse. Soon after that, she was transported to Northwest Medical Center, where the ER staff stabilized her to the point that she could breathe independently.
Aggravated Assault
A victim of Aggravated Assault on W Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 08/24/2023. The victim alleged that the suspect pointed a firearm at her. The victim is seen on video surveillance stopping in front of the suspect’s vehicle, and audio is heard of her yelling at him. The victim claimed she went up to see what was happening after she and the suspect honked at each other at the guard gate. The victim stated she saw a firearm pointed towards her by the suspect.
Theft – Retail / Shoplifting
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on W Hillsboro Blvd was reported on 08/27/2023. The total estimated loss was $470. An unknown suspect entered the business where he had selected a Champion Inverter from within the store. The unknown suspect proceeded with the item to the receiving area, exiting the store without paying for the merchandise.
Criminal Mischief
A victim of Criminal Mischief on University Drive was reported on 08/28/2023. The reporting person advised that someone hit his vehicle with an egg as he was driving southbound on N University Drive.
Arrests
No arrests were reported.
