Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through November 20, 2023.
Fire
A victim of Fire on NW 62 Court on 11/14/2023. The reporting person advised that his lawnmower exploded inside the garage. The Coral Springs -Parkland Fire Department put out the fire without any injuries.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence on Spiderlily Court on 11/14/2023. The victim heard an audible house alarm and went to investigate. It wasn’t until approximately forty minutes later that he discovered the back sliding door ajar and looked at home surveillance. He discovered a male suspect dressed in all black open the sliding door. The suspect does not appear to make entry.
Information
A victim of Information on W Miralago Drive on 11/15/2023. The caller made allegations of a violation of fraudulent voting activities relating to association elections. He advised that he received an email from an unnamed resident stating that an assistant property manager made an inappropriate comment when the resident placed her ballot in the ballot box at the homeowner’s association election.
A victim of Information on S Blue Spring Drive on 11/15/2023. The complainant advised that a window company that replaced the back window of her 2017 Lexus SUV felt that they had overcharged her. According to the complainant, the window company originally quoted her $580 to replace her back window.
After the job was completed, the complainant was charged $1,380. Feeling overcharged, the complainant wanted to file a civil complaint against the window company.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage on N State Road 7 on 11/17/2023. Two vehicles made contact inside the automatic car wash.
Theft
A victim of Theft From a Building on NW 68 Drive on 11/17/2023. The reporting person advised that business credit cards and checks were taken from his residence and then used. The total estimated loss was $13,777.
A victim of Theft – Retail / Shoplifting on Hillsboro Blvd on 11/19/2023. The total estimated loss was $199.96. The reporter advised after the unknown suspect entered the business, she selected four bottles of Johnnie Walker Black Label from within the liquor store. The unknown suspect proceeded with the items past the register, where she exited the store without making payment for the merchandise.
Arrests
Rodriguez, Anthony, 24, was arrested on a charge of Warrant at 6515 NW 99 Lane on 11/15/2023.
