The Parkland Soccer Club has announced significant staff changes aimed at enhancing the club’s commitment to excellence in youth soccer development.
Coach Dumel Decius has been named Director of Competitive Performance, and the club welcomes back Coach Luis A. Valente as Director of Coaching and Soccer Operations.
Decius, a dedicated member of the Parkland family for over ten years, will now lead the competitive performance of both boys and girls programs.
Holding a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) D License, Dumel has been a critical part of the club since its inception. His “Development before Winning” philosophy has helped hundreds of young athletes in the community compete at the highest levels of club and school soccer.
In addition, the club welcomes Valente back. With over 15 years of experience at Parkland, Valente holds an impressive list of certifications, including a USSF A License, United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching and Premier Coaching Certificates, a Coaching Methodology certificate from the German Football Association (DFB), and is currently a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) B License candidate.
According to the club, Valente’s philosophy that “soccer resembles life” has inspired many young athletes to develop a growth mindset and pursue their dreams, regardless of the challenges ahead.
