Prepare to cast your lines at the City of Parkland’s annual Youth Fishing Derby.
The highly anticipated series of fishing events will take place on three Saturdays, June 14, July 12, and August 9, 2024, at the scenic Pine Trails Park Fishing Pier.
Open to the public, the event caters specifically to young anglers aged 3 to 12. It offers a perfect opportunity for children to dip their toes into competitive fishing. No prior fishing experience is needed, though participants must bring their fishing gear and bait.
Festivities kick off at 8:00 a.m. with the sounding of a horn, marking the official start of the derby. Young participants will have two hours to try their luck and skill in catching fish, competing for titles such as Biggest Fish, Most Fish Caught, and Smallest Fish Caught.
Participants are encouraged to arrive before the 8:00 a.m. start to complete the check-in process. This allows everyone ample time to prepare for a morning of excitement and friendly competition.
