The Marjory Stoneman Douglas baseball team is set to play for another State Championship following a 5-0 win over Alonso High School on Friday in Fort Myers.
Gio Rojas tossed a complete game shutout, allowing only one hit and striking out 15, while Jake Rizzo, Drew Freeman, Lorenzo Laurel, and Cade Raley all drove in runs.
The Eagles are now 30-2 and have nine postseason wins after previously winning a District and Regional Championship. MSD will play either Hagerty or Jupiter High School on Saturday, May 17, at 5 p.m. The Huskies are 29-6-1 this year and rank as the 50th-ranked team in the country, while the Warriors are 25-9 and are led by former JPT coach Joe Giummule.
