On November 26, deputies were dispatched about injuries to a 71-year-old man by his daughter.
Deputies met with the victim, who stated that his daughter came to the residence without notification and began a physical altercation with him. Deputies could see several injuries to the male, including a severely swollen left eye and several cuts and abrasions to the left leg area on his shin.
Coral Springs/Parkland Fire Rescue responded; however, the victim denied treatment. He stated that his daughter suffered from mental illness and was Baker Acted on Memorial Day this year. She lost custody rights to her three-year-old daughter, and that he and his wife have custody of her.
He stated that his daughter has been causing significant stress and turmoil to them since she lost the custody rights a month prior, and his daughter is no longer allowed to be at the residence unless he and his wife agree to it and has since had to move out due to the court order (custody hearing and findings).
On November 26, the victim stated that his daughter unexpectantly showed up at his residence and banged on the front door. According to the victim, his granddaughter ran to the door, saw her mother, and became excited. He allowed the granddaughter to visit with her mother, but then his daughter then began to video him and curse at him. He then asked her to stop, and she “flipped out” and ran off with the child to a neighbor’s residence. She then came back to his home and began to get into an altercation with him, becoming very hostile, running inside and videoing again. She became physical and struck him in the face several times. He called 911 and deputies arrested the daughter, who was later charged with Domestic Battery with a person 65 years of age or older, Felony.
