A Message from Mayor Rich Walker
I am incredibly excited and honored to serve the City of Parkland as your new Mayor. The opportunity to lead the City in which my wife and I chose to raise our children—the City we all love—is such a privilege.
As is often the case, privileges come with challenges. I look forward to not only continuing the progress we have already made but meeting new challenges our City faces in the years to come.
Achieving new milestones begins with our strategic planning in April 2021. I am eager for that opportunity to address some of our immediate needs and concerns.
For those who do not yet know me, I want you to know I have an open-door policy. Feel free to reach out to me via cell phone or email at 973-390-1453 rwalker@cityofparkland.org. If you prefer, I would love to meet you in person if you can drop by City Hall during my scheduled open office hours on Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The Holiday Season is currently upon us. On behalf of my entire family, we wish you the happiest of Holidays and a healthy and peaceful New Year. It is important that we reflect on what is important and continue to stay positive, and enjoy this time with our loved ones. Many of our treasured traditions have been modified, and many of our grand-scale plans have been halted, but it is imperative we reflect on why such measures are necessary.
Our families and our community continue to unite and preserve together, which provides us all with strength and hope.
The year 2020 has certainly been challenging. The Mental Health of our residents is of the utmost importance to me. We need to make sure that we take care of our neighbors, our families, and ourselves. Please remember, there are so many incredible resources available if you feel the need to reach out for a helping hand. Eagles Haven and Broward 211 are just a few local resources. We are all in this together.
I look forward to serving all of you in a Happy and Healthy 2021.
Rich Walker
