Devin Fitz-Gerald will play in the 2023 Perfect Game National Showcase at Chase Field in Arizona on July 11-15. The two-time State and National Champion had a historic junior season hitting .392 with six home runs and 32 RBIs. Fitz-Gerald was named the BCAA Most Valuable Player this year and won a gold medal for the US National Team, playing for the Canes. He is committed to playing college baseball at NC State.
Nick Diaz was selected to play in the PBR Futures Event in Atlanta, which consists of the top uncommitted players in the country, on July 31- August 3. Diaz has spent the last two years on the junior varsity team and finished second on the squad with a .471 batting average. He also had two home runs, 15 RBIs and was previously named to the All-Tournament Team at the 15U Nationals after going 12-17 All-Tournament Team after going 12-17 (.706) with five doubles, eight RBIs, and scored eight runs in the team’s seven games.
On July 8, sophomore Bennett Gary was also added to the PBR Futures Event. He had only one at-bat in the regular season but went on to play five games in the postseason, including two hits in his first game, along with a triple and three RBIs in the final. Gary also knocked in three RBIs after starting the season on the junior varsity team, where he hit a pair of home runs and also went 4-0 on the mound with 22.2 shutout innings and has carried that over with the Original Florida Pokers.
