Two former Marjory Stoneman Douglas football players have decided where they want to continue their athletic careers.
Luke Evans
Luke Evans officially signed with Mississippi State University. He played on the varsity football team in 2021, picked off four passes, and had one fumble recovery helping the Eagles reach the State Playoffs. Evans then transferred to Chaminade Madonna High School for his senior year and helped lead the team to a record of 13-1. They also finished the season as the 10th-ranked team in the country. He is set to join a football team currently ranked 24th in the nation and is now 8-4 this season.
Demetri Robinson
Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate and Coral Springs resident Demetri Robinson officially committed to playing his final three years at Mercer University in Georgia. He started his high school career at Coral Glades and then transferred to Marjory Stoneman Douglas for his senior year in 2020.
Robinson began his college career at Dodge City Community College and committed alongside his brother, Demetrius, who signed at St. Thomas University. After redshirting his freshman season, Robinson was a staple on the offensive line for the Conquistadors, playing alongside high school teammate Colton Eisenberg. Dodge City threw for 1,821 yards and also rushed for 855. They finished the season with three wins.
Demetri also received an All-Conference Honorable Mention and had offers from Murray State, Eastern Kentucky, Western Carolina, and Mercer, along with an offer from NCAA DII school Valdosta State University. He ultimately picked Mercer, who is coming off a terrific season, where they went 7-4.
