Both the Westglades boys and girls soccer completed their incredible season, posting an undefeated regular season before falling in the Championship game on Monday against Falcon Cove.
The boys team, which is led by the reigning Westglades Coach of the Year, Danny Gurr and Kathryn Cottrell, consists of Neel Bharambe, Ryan Eagen, Nasir Forbes, Luca Frenquellucci, Chase Giannell, Jackson Gibney, Andre Gonzalez, Bryce Hantman, Harrison Kostick, Kai Matchniff, Zachary Metzger, Federico Nino, Lucca Novaes and Matthew Rodriguez, Colton Taylor, Lucas Zusmanavicius and team manager Logan Maya.
“We could not be more proud of this team and what they were able to accomplish,” Gurr said ” This boys squad has done more than any previous team in 14 years. Securing a division and North Area Championship.”
Shannon Goodrich coaches the girls team, consisting of Jordin Bekker, Stella Rapaport, Olivia DeStefano, Addison Goodrich, Kiana Heuett. Emiliana Anzures, Alyssa Rodriguez, Nadia Tomlinson, Grace Ulinski, Aimee Vignola, Savannah Colon, Alexys Caropresso, Tenley Plambeck, Heidi Garfield, Salma Valdez, and Brooke Billet.
Goodrich says her team did a fantastic job representing Westglades and could not be more proud.
“The girls showed up every day on the field and gave it their all,” she said. “The unity shared between the players can be attributed to their captains, Jordin Bekker and Stella Rappaport, for their ever-encouraging leadership on and off the field. I am grateful to be their coach.”
