The Marjory Stoneman Douglas girls lacrosse team got a head start on their season, competing in the Jingle Bowl Holiday Tournament in Tamarac on December 18.
“We had a nice balance of athletes this year with new players and some of our seniors, including Taylor McGovern, Gracy Haynes, and Stephanie Bilsky, head coach Scott Iardella said. “The girls had a blast and played unbelievably competitively in every game. It was a great experience.”
The Eagles went 1-3 and had their win by ten goals. They previously lost two games by one goal and only two in their semifinal game.
McGovern, an All-American, led MSD to a 12-5 season. The Eagles lost to Boca Raton Community High School in districts and Regionals. They will open their season against Pine Crest on February 15.
