Marjory Stoneman Douglas is dominating yet another sport, this time in the pool with the water polo team.
After splitting their first six games of the season, the boys team has now won six of seven following a 23-6 victory over Cardinal Gibbons High School on Senior Night on Tuesday.
Justin Berke, injured moments into the season’s first game, returned on Tuesday and scored a team-high seven goals. He was recognized along with Austin McClellan, Jacob Wilford, Nathan Didovic, and Matthew Feuss.
This season, the Eagles have wins against Fort Lauderdale, Nova, Western, Coral Springs High School, Charles W. Flanagan, Cypress Bay, West Boca Raton, and Cardinal Gibbons High School.
Juan Lopez leads the team with 87 goals and 26 assists. Nathan Didovic is second on the team with 32 goals and 17 assists, while Conner Wilford, McClellan, and Jacob Wilford have at least ten goals. Christian Nicholas, Feuss, Keith Bronson, Dylan Shapins, and Noah Seid scored.
The girls team also beat Deerfield Beach High School on a senior night, 18-2, while honoring Roni Lubarsky, Hayley Tywang, Jessica Lee, and Viviana Fernandez.
They defeated Nova, Western, Pompano Beach, and Deerfield Beach. Sadie Titensor leads the team with 36 goals, followed by Fernandez, Elizabeth Shihman, Kayleigh Didovic, Lee, Sienna, and Grayeli, who all have at least 17 goals.
