Make Our Schools Safe Golf Classic 2023. {MOSS}
The 4th Annual Make Our Schools Safe (MOSS) Golf Classic is set for October 18 at the Country Club of Coral Springs.
The afternoon of golfing and fun at the club at 10800 West Sample Road will kick off with registration at noon and tee time at 1 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Attendees will also have the chance to win raffle prizes.
The not-for-profit MOSS was founded by Broward County Public Schools Chair Lori Alhadeff and her family following the murder of Alhadeff’s daughter, Alyssa, in the 2018 Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School mass shooting in Parkland.
Funds raised at this year’s classic will help pay for “a critical security upgrade” at Coral Springs High School – additions that will help control and monitor all access points to the school, reduce unauthorized entries, and ensure “a safer environment for everyone,” Alhadeff said.
“Each year, the Make Our Schools Safe Golf Classic Fundraiser brings our community together to make a lasting impact on school safety,” said the school board chair. “Together, we are saving lives and creating lasting change.”
MOSS offers a range of event sponsorships at different price points. Golfers can purchase tickets to the classic here.
Donations to MOSS have paid for dozens of school programs, safety upgrades, life-saving care kits, student scholarships, and other projects.
