2 Marjory Stoneman Douglas Grads Score First Collegiate Goal in Soccer 4

Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduates Jackie Destafano and Grace Dykstra each scored their first collegiate goal within four days of each other.

Destefano found the back of the net in the 15th minute, knocking in her own rebound as the Saints earned a 2-2 tie against sixth-ranked Nova Southeastern University on Sept. 2. The goal came in Destafano’s second collegiate game. She previously started and recorded a shot on goal in her debut against Embry-Riddle.

A 2026 graduate of MSD, Destafano played on the varsity team beginning her freshman year and helped the Eagles win four consecutive District Championships. She earned First Team All-Conference honors as a senior after recording three goals and three assists while playing defender.

Dykstra scored the first goal of her collegiate career for the University of Wisconsin during the Badgers’ 6-2 win over Western Michigan on September 6. After not playing during her freshman season, Dykstra made her collegiate debut against the University of Illinois Chicago before reaching the scoresheet for the first time against Western Michigan.

Before beginning her college career at Wisconsin, Dykstra starred at the high school level, scoring 25 goals and recording 13 assists over two varsity seasons before sitting out her senior year. She was named Broward County Player of the Year and earned All-State and All-Academic honors twice from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association.
