Police are searching for a woman who pepper-sprayed a mall patron outside Town Center at Boca Raton Sunday.
The female victim had just purchased a luxury handbag at a department store when she was apparently followed outside by the suspect around 4:30 p.m.
The victim was walking toward her car in the mall’s east parking lot at 6000 West Glades Road – holding a shopping bag – when the woman attacked her with the chemical irritant, Boca Raton Police said in a Facebook post on Monday.
The attacker pulled at the handle of the victim’s shopping bag, but the victim managed to keep it in her possession. She suffered minor injuries.
Police described the suspect as a white female of average height, around 30 to 50 years old, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and dark pants.
Officers conducted a search of the area but did not find the attacker, police said.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Boca Raton Police Detective Dale Graham at (561) 620-6175.
