Marjory Stoneman Douglas’s Christian Rodriguez was awarded USA Baseball International Performance of the Year after his outstanding performance in the 18U World Cup in September.
Rodriguez competed for Team USA and won a gold medal. Coming into the semifinals game with the bases loaded and nobody out, Rodriguez struck out the side before USA went on to advance to the final and win the Championship.

Rodriguez pitched in three of the team’s eight games. They went 7-1 in the tournament and 3-0 in games pitched by Rodriguez. The University of Florida signee has one year left on the varsity baseball team. He has 18 wins, a lifetime .349 hitter, and has helped the Eagles win back-to-back State Championships.
