The Marjory Stoneman Douglas softball team had an early exit in the District Tournament but still earned a spot in Regionals for the fourth straight year.
MSD had a terrific regular season, winning 12 games and earning a spot in the Big-8 Championship. Despite being seeded second in Districts, the Eagles fell 5-1 against Coral Glades for the second straight season.
The Eagles will play Park Vista Community High School on Thursday, May 8, at 7 p.m. The Cobras are the second seed and went 14-5 this year, but they lost to Spanish River Community High School 1-0 in the District Championship Game.
These teams met earlier this year, with Park Vista winning 3-0. The winner of this game will play either Western or Coral Glades in the Regional Semifinals. Coral Reef High School is the top seed. They will play Miami Palmetto Senior High School, while West Broward and Spanish River Community High School will also face off.
