Parkland weekly Crime Update by Parkland Talk

Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through August 21, 2023.

Auto Theft

A victim of Auto Theft on Old Club Road was reported on 08/15/2023. The total estimated loss was $12,000. A white golf cart was stolen. The reporting person advised that an unknown white male approached the clubhouse asking for gas because his grandfather’s car had broken down on University Drive. The reporting person said she turned around to ask a maintenance worker if he could get a gas can, and at that time, the unknown white male got into a golf cart and drove away.

Property Damage

A victim of Property Damage on NW 87 Avenue was reported on 08/15/2023. A flatbed delivery truck attempted to maneuver in an intersection and drove over a grass area with wires damaging an electrical box.

Criminal Mischief

A victim of Criminal Mischief on Loxahatchee Road was reported on 08/16/2023. The victim parked his vehicle in the back of the business and locked it. He came outside, and the front window was smashed.

Burglary Conveyance

A victim of Burglary Conveyance at NW 66 Way was reported on 08/16/2023. The total estimated loss was $580. The vehicle was left unlocked overnight with a Glock 22, valued at $500.00, stolen from the center console and also stolen, a plastic holster ($50.00), and one magazine with 12 rounds in it.


A victim of Theft From a Building on NW 59 Drive was reported on 08/16/2023. The total estimated loss was $1,300. The reporting person’s daughter cannot locate her iPhone. The daughter left her iPhone on her nightstand, and she had a group of friends over for a party. After the party, she could not locate her phone.

A victim of Theft – All Other on N University Drive was reported on 08/17/2023. The total estimated loss was $8,000. A white, newer model GMC Sierra pick-up truck or similar vehicle navigated to the rear of the building, where it turned off its lights. The passenger got out, walked around the trailer, hooked up the trailer to the trailer hitch, left, and did not return.


A victim of Battery on NW 62 Terrace was reported on 08/17/2023. The victim’s son became verbally abusive and threw a cellular phone at the victim, striking her just below the left knee and causing a small cut that did not require medical treatment.

Animal Bite

A victim of Animal Bite on NW 117 Avenue was reported on 08/18/2023. A Pool Service employee was walking between houses when the neighbor’s two American Bulldogs got off leash and attacked him, biting his legs as he fled for safety. The dogs are now in quarantine pending an animal control investigation.


Pitre, Richard, 48, was arrested on a Vehicle Theft-Grand Theft Of Motor Vehicle charge at Old Club Road on 08/15/2023.

Foster, Johnathan, Antonio, 22, was arrested on a Battery-Cause Bodily Harm – Domestic Violence charge at W 62 Terrace on 08/17/2023.
