Parkland's Jack Rostock Continues to Overcome Obstacles Following Player of Week Award 1

Parkland has produced yet another extremely talented baseball player, Jack Rostock, who was recently given a weekly award.

A junior at North Broward Prep, Rostock was named South Florida Player of the Week and has shined on the mound. He is currently competing for the 20th-ranked team in the state and is 4-0 this season with an ERA of 2.47.

Rostock tossed a shutout on April 1 and recorded nine strikeouts after recently topping 90 mph with his fastball. He is a top 500 player by Perfect Game for the class of 2026 and was a High Honorable Mention for Perfect Game Preseason Underclass, All-American Team.

“I love playing baseball at North Broward Prep because the coaches and level of competition prepare you to succeed on and off the field,” Rostock said. “I’ve had a solid season, but I was surprised to receive individual recognition because the seniors are the heart and soul of the team and have carried us.”

Rostock has not always had it easy, as he has had Type 1 Diabetes his entire life. He monitors his blood sugar levels throughout the day using a continuous glucose monitor, and he administers insulin using an injection pen that is always on him.

That has not stopped his success on and off the field. He has a family fundraiser called the Jack Pack, which has raised over $100,000 in the last ten years. Rostock is also on the Youth Ambassador Board of Directors for the Southern Florida Chapter of Breakthrough T1D and is a member of the National Honor forty with a 4.09 GPA.

While Rostock hopes to play baseball in college, his main goal is to help North Broward Prep return to Fort Myers. The Eagles won a State Championship in three of the last four seasons last year. They are 16-5 this year, heading into the Palm League Tournament.
