Commissioner Bob Mayersohn has been awarded the Gold Certificate of Excellence from the Florida League of Cities University.
According to a statement from the City of Parkland, this recognition is part of the Certificate Program for Elected Municipal Officials, acknowledging them for their commitment to ongoing education and training.
Mayersohn completed the program, which offers three levels of certification: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. The Gold Certificate is the highest level of achievement.
Designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of municipal officials through a series of training sessions, the FLC program includes webinars, ethics courses, and conferences.
According to Greg Ross, 2023-24 FLC President and Mayor of Cooper City, FLC University offers comprehensive training and education opportunities for municipal officials to become strong leaders.
“We applaud these elected officials who have made education a priority in their busy schedules. The certificates demonstrate their commitment to both the cities and the residents they serve.”
Mayersohn participated in the program from July 2023 to July 2024, engaging in various educational opportunities to fulfill the requirements for the Gold Certificate.
“I believe it is my fundamental duty to develop an enhanced and deeper understanding of the diverse characteristics of good governance,” Mayersohn stated. “Through the continuing education programs offered by FLC University I have successfully achieved those goals and met those challenges in order to best serve our residents.”
Mayersohn and other certificate recipients will be recognized in the Florida League of Cities’ Quality Cities magazine and at the FLC Annual Conference.
