Through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates to residents, this is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through January 18, 2021.
5800 block of Holmberg Rd – Bell Parkland
On January 17, the reporting person said he was walking his dog within the listed development. During this time, a resident’s dog broke off from its leash and made physical contact with his dog. The reporter’s dog sustained an injury to its mouth from the resident’s dog.
11400 block of Carrington Ave – Watercrest
On January 16, the 24-year-old victim alleged that the suspect and herself got into a verbal altercation over money, and then the altercation became physical. The suspect grabbed the victim by the right arm because he told her to leave the residence, and she refused. Video footage was uploaded to Evidence.com.
8399 Watercrest Cir W/Hillsboro Blvd
On January 13, a Broward County school bus was attempting to access the Watercrest community when a malfunctioning automatic security gate arm came down upon the school bus causing no damage. There were no school children on the bus when the incident occurred, and no injuries were reported.
5100 block of Godfrey Rd – Country Acres
On January 13, BSO spoke resident, who advised she has been having ongoing issues since last year with her neighbor located on the same street.
6800 block of Lost Garden Terr – Parkland Golf & Country Club
On January 14, BSO was dispatched to the location for an information report. The homeowner advised a suspicious vehicle has stopped in front of her residence twice since December.
8200 block of NW 105th Lane – Heron Bay
On January 14, the victim stated she was walking with her daughter when a dog ran over to her, causing her to fall and scrape her knee.
10555 Trails End – Pine Trails Park
On January 16, there were conflicting stories between two parties about the ownership of a basketball at the park.
6100 block of NW 66th Ave
On January 16, the complainant is irritated by her neighbor playing loud music in his backyard adjacent to her backyard.
7100 block of NW 65th Ter – Pine Tree Estates
On January 15, the reporting person alleges that a moving company she hired to move her possessions from the listed address had damaged window shutters within the home.
7705 N State Road 7 – Wawa
On January 13, three suspects (below) were charged with Loitering & Prowling/ Probation Violation.
7600 block of NW 71st Ter – Cypress Cay
On January 18, the reporting party stated that they found their vehicle with a broken window after the lawn services worked on his yard and requested a report to bring to the HOA and lawn service company to have the damages fixed.
Smith, Dean Anthony (B M, 20) was arrested on Loitering Or Prowling charges at 7705 N State Road 7, Parkland, on 01/13/2021.
Thomas, Terius Lamar (B M, 20) was arrested on Loitering Or Prowling charges at 7705 N State Road 7, Parkland, on 01/14/2021.
Thurston, Cory (B M, 19) was arrested on Loitering Or Prowling charges at 7705 N State Road 7, Parkland, on 01/14/2021.
