The talented students at Westglades Middle School brought Dr. Suess’s characters to life during the musical “Seussical Jr.” last week.
Characters included: Horton played by Ethan Shavelson; Jojo played by Jacob Harris; Gertrude played by Samantha Schelin; Mayzie La’Bird played by Hayden Redshaw; Sour Kangaroo played by Andrea Hurtado: and The Cat in the Hat played by David Prengler.
Originally scheduled to be held at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, plans were changed due to the school shooting tragedy. Instead, the musical was held in the auditorium at the Parkland middle school to an enthusiastic audience who thanked director and drama instructor Samantha Donnelly for a job well done after the final curtain.
