The Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Parkland responded to various incidents between March 4 and March 10, 2025. Below is a detailed account of the incidents and arrests handled by local law enforcement.
Battery
March 5 – A domestic battery incident was reported at a residence. The offender allegedly caused a bruise on the victim’s chest before fleeing the scene. No medical intervention was required.
Drug/Narcotics Offenses
March 5 – A traffic stop was conducted on Loxahatchee Road near Bishop Pit Road following complaints of drag racing. A silver Mitsubishi was stopped, and narcotics were found in plain view. Additional drugs were discovered in the trunk. The driver was issued an Adult Civil Citation.
Theft
March 6 – A theft was reported involving black prescription Oakley sunglasses taken from an unlocked locker in a men’s locker room. The estimated loss was $300.
Threats/Intimidation
March 6 – A resident reported receiving threats over a financial dispute related to a website they were developing via Discord and Telegram.
Fraud
March 7 – A case of identity theft was reported in which an unknown suspect in Polk County fraudulently used the victim’s identity to file a tax return, listing a Parkland address.
Missing Person
March 7 – A 69-year-old man with Alzheimer’s was reported missing. He had last been seen at 3:00 p.m. that day.
Gun Buyback Program
March 5 – An anonymous individual turned in a firearm at the BSO District-17 Parkland Police Station.
March 10 – A total of six firearms were surrendered as part of the gun buyback initiative.
Domestic Disturbance
March 10 – Deputies responded to a non-criminal domestic disturbance involving an adult female, an adult male, and a juvenile.
Arrests
March 5 – Jon Christopher Franciosa, 45, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
March 8 – Frank Pereira Ferreira, 26, was arrested for grand theft of a firearm.
