Information Reports
July 8 – A possible fraud was reported; a BSO detective responded.
July 8 – A man reported receiving a phone call from someone claiming to be a BSO deputy demanding $7,500 for missed jury duty.
July 9 – A delayed incident from September 2023 involving an ex-resident was documented.
July 11 – A woman reported multiple calls and messages as she seeks a restraining order.
July 11 – Security requested documentation after a cement truck damaged property while trying to access a gated community.
July 12 – A driver of a van was accused of yelling “Go home” near a Chabad. The owner was located and denied the allegation; no crime was found.
July 14 – A woman contacted police after her juvenile son left home at 1:15 a.m. following text messages from a contact named “Will.” She requested guidance but did not wish to file a missing person report.
Domestic Disturbances (Non-Criminal)
July 11 – A dispute between a husband and wife resulted in the husband inadvertently spitting on his wife during an argument.
July 11 – A woman reported her adult son arriving unannounced and taking items from her home. A legal dispute over past fire damage is ongoing; no crime was determined.
Burglary
July 9 – A suspect was arrested after attempting to burglarize a vehicle. Deputies responded during the crime in progress and detained the suspect on scene.
Fire
July 10 – A resident in California saw smoke inside her Parkland home via camera. Emergency personnel found a fire in the garage. The cause was undetermined but not suspicious.
Aggravated Assault
July 10 – A man was arrested following a road rage incident in which he pointed a firearm at another driver. The weapon was recovered.
Auto Theft
July 12 – A man reported his vehicle stolen from his residence during the night. Surveillance footage was collected. The car was last tracked to Dania Beach.
Arrests
July 9 – Cadet Alexandre, 42, was arrested for burglary of an unoccupied conveyance.
July 10 – Cody Lee Sylvester, 29, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.
