Property Crimes and Incidents
Property Damage:
• Tall Pines – A gate at 8250 NW 62nd Dr. was damaged when a bicyclist struck it. The incident was documented for legal purposes. (Oct. 14, reported Oct. 28)
• Parkland Golf & Country Club – The entrance gate arm came down on a towed trailer, causing minor damage to both the gate and trailer. (Nov. 1)
Burglary:
• City of Parkland, 6500 Parkside Dr. – One city vehicle and two John Deere Gators were stolen from a fenced structure. Another city vehicle was vandalized, and a gas card was taken. Affidavits were signed and evidence processed. (Oct. 29)
Theft:
• Parkland – A resident reported her brown leather purse, containing a Louis Vuitton wallet, debit and credit cards, and ID, was stolen after she left it outside while assisting her husband. Estimated loss: $100. (Oct. 30)
Fraud:
• Four Seasons, 9330 Noor Blvd. – A former employee allegedly opened an Amazon business account in the property’s name and made purchases totaling $3,180 between December 2024 and April 2025. The items were shipped to a Coral Springs address. (Nov. 3)
Criminal Mischief:
• Chevron, 7191 N. State Road 7 – Surveillance video showed a person attempting to throw a rock through a business window. No damage occurred. (Oct. 31)
Disturbances and Other Reports
Vehicle Fire:
A 2010 Mercedes E350 caught fire while being charged with a portable battery charger. Engine 42 extinguished the fire; no injuries or property damage were reported. (Oct. 28)
Animal Bite:
A man walking in Parkland was bitten multiple times on his left hand by a small brown dog. The owner was advised to quarantine the animal pending follow-up from Broward County Animal Control. (Oct. 29)
Threat Assessments:
• Park Trails Elementary – A threat assessment was completed on a student. (Oct. 30)
• Westglades Middle School – A threat assessment was completed on a 12-year-old female student. (Nov. 3)
Lost and Found Property:
• A blue iPhone was found in the Parkland Golf & Country Club parking lot and placed into evidence. (Oct. 29)
• A woman at Aston Gardens reported losing her pocketbook. (Oct. 30)
Scam Alert:
A Parkland resident received a suspicious phone call from someone claiming to be a BSO deputy. No money was solicited, and the victim hung up. (Nov. 3)
Miscellaneous Reports:
• Several information and civil matters were documented, including disputes between landlords and tenants, a damaged vehicle handled privately, and a juvenile temporarily reported missing after a Halloween party.
• Two domestic disturbances (non-criminal) were reported; no arrests were made.
Assaults and Batteries
Assault:
A bicyclist reported that a driver in a gray Tesla nearly struck him, then exited the vehicle and approached aggressively, causing fear for his safety before fleeing the scene westbound on Holmberg Road. (Nov. 1)
Battery:
• A landlord-tenant dispute in Parkland escalated when the tenant reported being pushed. The suspect was arrested. (Oct. 29)
• A juvenile was arrested for domestic battery following a dispute. (Oct. 31)
• A man reported that his wife struck him in the face during an argument in August 2024; the investigation remains ongoing. (Reported Oct. 31)
Arrests
• Lara Jae Jordan-Kalidyn – Arrested on a charge of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. (Oct. 29)
• Unnamed juvenile – Arrested for domestic battery. (Oct. 31)
