This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through July 29, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Fraud
A victim of Fraud – All Other at N State Road 7 was reported on 07/24/2024.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Residence was reported on 07/24/2024. The victim opened his front door and was immediately attacked as the offender unlawfully entered the home and began to choke the victim. The offender was identified as the neighbor, and the attack was allegedly unprovoked.
Information
A victim of Information was reported on 07/26/2024. A dispute between the victim and an adult male business owner has led to the expressed defamatory comments against the business. The business responded with their own comments to dispute what was said, which the female believed to be offensive.
A victim of Information was reported on 07/25/2024. A female fell victim to an internet scam on Facebook.
Embezzlement
A victim of Embezzlement was reported on 07/29/2024. The total estimated loss was $100,000. The reporting person recently learned that for the past year and a half, an employee has been accessing the reporting person’s personal Apple Pay app and transferring money to the employee without the reporting person’s knowledge or consent.
Arrests
Bowsher, Dennis James, 71, was arrested on a charge of Burglary with Assault Or Battery on 07/24/2024.
