Israel’s celebrates its 70th birthday – or Yom Haatzmaut on April 19. To mark this special day, the Parkland Library will host “Our Years as Settlers in Israel:” The Post WWII Story of a Family of Five.
Speaker Eric Lipetz, tells the story of his own family who fled from Belgium to the Philippines to the United States before eventually settling in Israel in 1978.
This remarkable story travels in time and place from Lipetz’s grandfather’s ashes in Auschwitz to his father’s dream of settling in Israel.
