Planet Fitness, one of the largest and fastest-growing franchisors and operators of fitness centers in the United States, is set to celebrate the grand opening of its newest club on Thursday, February 23.
The event, which is free and open to the community, will take place at the Magnolia Shoppes location at 9535 Westview Drive in Coral Springs from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The grand opening will be a fun-filled event featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Scott J. Brook and the Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce, a $1,000 check presentation to the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County, and giveaways and prizes, including a 65” Smart TV, Amazon Echo Show, and an Apple watch. Stanley C. Panther, the Florida Panthers mascot, will also make a special appearance.
Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy free workouts and a 30-Minute Express Circuit class, as well as complimentary refreshments. Planet Fitness Classic Card members will have complimentary Black Card amenities, while the virtual remote with Big 105.9 FM will keep the party going.
The 19,703-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, fully equipped locker rooms with lockers and showers, and numerous flat-screen televisions.
The club’s PF Black Card Spa Area is another highlight, offering HydroMassage beds, massage chairs, tanning, and a RelaxSpace Wellness Pod. The Wellness Pod, Planet Fitness’ first in the area, provides a unique, multi-sensory experience where Black Card members can relax, reset, and focus on their mental health for up to 15 minutes.
Members can select between a variety of videos, scents, and even temperatures while learning more about diet, nutrition, breathing, and the benefits of exercise. The Wellness Pod will also track heart rate and encourage members to use breathing and meditation exercises to reduce anxiety levels and disconnect.
“We are committed to investing in the Parkland community at large and are thrilled to unveil our brand-new Judgement Free facilities to our existing and soon-to-be members,” said Victor Brick, co-owner of Ohana Growth Partners (OGP), a franchise division of Planet Fitness.
“Already, we’ve experienced an outstanding response from the community and encourage everyone to come check out the club during our official grand opening event, meet our friendly team members, get a tour, and see what the Judgement Free Zone is all about.”
Membership options start at $10/month for the Classic Card, which includes free fitness training led by a certified fitness trainer through the pe@pf program. The Planet Fitness Black Card membership, which costs $24.99/month, allows members to bring a guest every day at no additional charge and gives them access to all 2,400+ Planet Fitness locations in all 50 states, as well as massage beds, chairs, and tanning, among other benefits.
The Coral Springs-Parkland club is Planet Fitness’ 27th in the area and OGP’s 9th in Florida. Clubs also are located in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach, and Broward counties: Coconut Creek, Coral Springs, Delray Beach East, Hillsboro, Margate, North Miami Beach, Pompano, and Tamarac.
