Roundabout {City of Parkland}
Broward County has launched a year-long road improvement project on Hillsboro Boulevard beginning Tuesday, which will bring new safety features and accessibility upgrades to a busy stretch of the roadway.
The project, covering Hillsboro Boulevard from Parkside Drive to U.S. 441, will add bike lanes, a new roundabout, roadway lighting, and upgraded ADA accessibility. It will also feature the installation of a high‐intensity activated crosswalk (HAWK) signal between Northwest 79th Drive and Northwest 76th Drive to enhance pedestrian safety.
During construction, motorists can expect lane closures and shifting traffic flow patterns. Despite the changes, westbound and eastbound lanes—as well as sidewalks—will remain open throughout the project.
Project signs will be posted on Hillsboro Boulevard, and travelers will notice contractors and construction activity ramping up over the next two weeks.
The improvements are designed to make the roadway safer for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians while modernizing infrastructure to meet community needs.
