Runners prepare: the Parkland Dash is back in person, and registration is open.
On Sunday, October 17, participants can choose from a certified 5K course, 5-Mile course, or a family-friendly 1-mile fun run/walk at Pine Trails Park.
According to Vice Mayor Bob Mayersohn, who regularly participates in the event, this year has a stronger community approach.
“Not only will a portion of the proceeds benefit our schools and student scholarships, but Parkland Buddy Sports was named as a beneficiary as well,” he said.
Awards will be given for the top three male and female overall times, and all runners will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal.
Registration is $30 for an individual, $70 for a family, and just $15 for the 1-mile course. Use promo code “EarlyBird” for $5 off through August 28.
“Remember, irrespective of your ability, everyone is encouraged to participate and have some fun,” said Mayersohn.
Sponsorship opportunities are still available by contacting Nick Williams.
The event will begin at 7:00 a.m., with check-in taking place from 6:00 – 6:30 am. Strollers are welcome for all courses.
Pine Trails Park is located at 10555 Trails End.
