This summer, Congregation Kol Tikvah has created a mitzvah project to benefit families in need of food.
The donations will benefit Hope South Florida, which provides emergency shelter, housing assistance, and support services to thousands of homeless families, many of whom depend on free school breakfasts or lunch during the year.
Congregation Kol Tikvah is requesting specific items to be donated in fabric or paper shopping bags.
Participating residents should bring the following:
1 box of healthy cereal
1 box of breakfast bars
1 jar of peanut butter
1 jar of jelly
3 cans of tuna
2 boxes of macaroni and cheese
1 box of crackers
1 bag of rice
3 cans of black beans
1 box of pasta
1 can of pasta sauce
If they would like to, participants can include a note of encouragement. Bags may be dropped off in front of the sanctuary doors at 6750 North University Drive, from Tuesday, July 13 through Friday, July 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or in-person on Monday, July 19, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
