Former Marjory Stoneman Douglas graduate Gavin Conticello had a moment to remember on Friday in a minor league game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Angels.
The 2021 graduate not only had the chance to face MLB Star Shohei Ohtani, but Conticello hit a home run. He is also in his second spring training with the Arizona Diamondbacks after winning a State Championship with MSD and getting selected in the eighth round.
Conticello had an RBI single against Brandon Hughes after hitting three home runs last year. The left-handed slugger is expected to play on Low A Ball this year while he works his way up to the Major Leagues.
