This is a summary of crimes and other Parkland incidents through April 22, 2024, compiled through our joint effort with the Broward Sheriff’s Office to share updates with residents.
Information
Information was reported on 04/16/2024. The reporting person stated that her juvenile daughter viewed a group message on the social media platform Snapchat. The message received on Snapchat was a video sent by a juvenile. The video showed an unknown person filming themselves opening a Glock handgun case and then holding the gun. No threats were made to anyone at this time.
Information was reported on 04/18/2024. Deputies responded to a gas leak outside the clubhouse. The property landscaping company accidentally cut a gas line on the west side of the clubhouse. Coral Springs Fire Rescue, Sunrise Fire Rescue, and BSO all arrived on the scene.
Information was reported on 04/18/2024. A resident advised that she had to terminate a business employee due to a lengthy criminal history. He has since been bad-mouthing her online.
Burglary
A victim of Burglary Conveyance at Country Point was reported on 04/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $400. An adult male reported that his unlocked Toyota pickup was entered during the listed timeframe, and property was stolen from within the vehicle.
A victim of Burglary Conveyance was reported on 04/17/2024. The total estimated loss was $100. An adult male reported that his unlocked GMC Sierra pickup was entered, and property was stolen from within the vehicle.
Property Damage
A victim of Property Damage was reported on 04/17/2024. A city employee experienced a vehicle mishap when he contacted a pole within the park near the public works area off-road at the park. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was operable.
Criminal Mischief
The City Of Parkland was the victim of Criminal Mischief at Pine Trails Park on Trails End, which was reported on 04/19/2024. An unknown subject spray-painted the word “Lando” in blue on the interior men’s restroom wall at the concession stand.
Animal Bite
A victim of an Animal Bite was reported on 04/19/2024. A dog bit another dog while at a groomer.
Battery
A victim of Battery was reported on 04/19/2024.
